David B. Johnston , (Link email – dbj@phoenixvc.com) Managing General Partner, Chief Investment Officer.

Mr. Johnston is the Managing General Partner of The Phoenix Partners.  Mr. Johnston joined The Phoenix Partners in 1992 and brings with him several years of software development and marketing experience.  Before joining The Phoenix Partners, Mr. Johnston was an early participant in the RDMS “database wars” of the late 1980’s.  He was an integral part of building a user base of over 600,000 database users for the R:BASE product line for Microrim, Incorporated.  Upon joining The Phoenix Partners as an associate, Mr. Johnston’s major focus was to find emerging market opportunities in high technology with an emphasis on Internet related software development.  As Chief Investment Officer, Mr. Johnston is responsible for all investment decisions for The Phoenix Partners.  Mr. Johnston has direct influence and/or Board representation in several privately held companies.  Mr. Johnston holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Whitman College

William B. Horne, (Link email – whorne@phoenixvc.com) Member, Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Horne is a Member and Chief Financial Officer of The Phoenix Partners.  Prior to joining The Phoenix Partners, Mr. Horne held supervisory positions at Price Waterhouse, LLP.  His finance and accounting experience at Price Waterhouse, with a diverse set of clients in early stage, established and distressed situations, provides valuable knowledge and perspective to both existing portfolio companies and potential investments.  Mr. Horne has a Bachelor of Arts Magna Cum Laude in Accounting from Seattle University and is a licensed CPA in the State of Washington.  Prior to attending Seattle University, Mr. Horne served in the United States Marine Corps.

Stuart C. Johnston, (Link email - stuart@phoenixvc.com) Managing General Partner.

Mr. Johnston is the founder and Managing Member of The Phoenix Partners and has over twenty years of venture capital experience.  Prior to founding The Phoenix Partners, Mr. Johnston spent seventeen years in the investment banking business with Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs and A.G. Becker Paribas.  He has successfully invested in numerous high technology and biotechnology companies.  Mr. Johnston has a special interest in strategic planning, financial engineering and corporate finance.
